Every year in the UK
approximately 50,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Of these women, over 40% will require mastectomies. At 39 a woman has
a 1 in 215 chance of contracting the condition. These odds become less
favourable with every decade. In October 2013 I joined those statistics. The events related are
not unique. They are repeated tens of thousands of times a year. But the story
is mine.
